Jul 8, 2022 | Tennessee Farm Bureau

The Tennessee Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation teamed up to host a congressional forum with six of the candidates running for the open house seat in the 5th Congressional District of Tennessee. Candidates participating were: Natisha Brown, Senator Heidi Campbell, Beth Harwell, Mayor Andy Ogles, Kurt Winstead and Tres Wittum.

More than 160 leaders from the business and agriculture industry attended the forum to hear how each of the candidates would like to move both industries in Tennessee forward. The format included an introductory statement from each candidate, the chance to answer two questions and a closing statement. Some of the topics included regulatory overreach, inflation, immigration, infrastructure and maintaining worker freedom through right-to-work.

Both Tennessee Farm Bureau and Tennessee Chamber appreciate the time and effort put forth by all candidates participating in the forum as well as all those who attended. Both organizations wish each candidate the best of luck as they work to earn the votes of citizens in Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District, and stand ready to work with any candidate elected for the betterment of agriculture and commerce across the state.
