Tennessee Farm Bureau was created in 1921 to better the lives of farmers and rural people across the Volunteer State. That’s taken many different forms over the years, including educating students about farm life, combating childhood hunger, providing disaster relief to rural communities and much more. As a result, the organization has established the Tennessee Farm Bureau Foundation to bring together all those efforts under one unified mission: Supporting Tennessee communities and strengthening agriculture across the state through charitable activities. The foundation creates a centralized force for good which will channel support, resources and leadership development into one powerful hub – ensuring a lasting impact on Tennessee agriculture and the people who depend on it.

MEAT THE NEED is a program of the Tennessee Farm Bureau Foundation that transforms Tennessee agricultural generosity into nutritious meals for children facing hunger. Through the program, livestock producers donate animals or financial support, and the donated livestock is processed into high-protein meat sticks that are distributed through backpack food programs across the state. These backpack programs help ensure children have access to nutritious food on weekends and during school breaks when school meals are unavailable.
SHOOTING HUNGER is one of Tennessee Farm Bureau Foundation’s signature initiatives dedicated to fighting food insecurity across the Volunteer State. Launched in 2015, the initiative is a partnership between Tennessee Farm Bureau, Farm Credit Mid-America and Tennessee Farmers Cooperative. The sporting clays fundraiser was one of the Foundation’s first projects and continues to play a vital role in its mission of supporting Tennessee communities. Over the years, the initiative has grown into a statewide effort uniting agriculture, businesses and community partners to help feed hungry children and families.
Join us as we grow a brighter future – for our farmers, our families and the Volunteer State.
