Made in Tennessee Building Unveiled at State Fair

The new Made In Tennessee Building was unveiled at the state fairgrounds in Wilson County on Monday. The building will feature the products grown and made in the state.

Thomas Capps: Tennessee Showcased at the State Fair. Hello and welcome to Tennessee Home and Farm Radio, I’m Thomas Capps.

Commissioner Charlie Hatcher: I think it’s gonna, it’s gonna propel us into the top 10 in the country in the state fairs I believe.

Thomas Capps: All eyes will be on the new Made in Tennessee building come August at the Tennessee State Fair. The $6 million structure was unveiled Monday at the fairgrounds in Wilson County. State Fair President Randall Clemons says the building will highlight the great state of Tennessee and the products grown and made here.

Randall Clemons: It’s to really focus on all 95 counties, the assets each county has, and for us to have competitive exhibits. The champion of all the county fairs in the state will compete in here. The travel Tennessee will be in your here where each county will have a booth showcasing its county that’s on top of the state map that’s in here county by county.

Thomas Capps: Tennessee Commissioner of Agriculture, Dr. Charlie Hatcher, believes this building will help grow the State Fair and be a great asset for teaching the public about what is grown here.

Commissioner Charlie Hatcher: This is a big, major, really nice building that’s going to just highlight the State Fair and the continued success. I think we’re just going to keep elevating in attendance and in educational programs and all of it.

Thomas Capps: Like the fair as a whole, the Made in Tennessee building will focus on agriculture.

Randall Clemons: It’s a wonderful facility and we are so excited about how it’s going to work for the Tennessee State Fair. We hope you know that this facility will be the center of agriculture throughout the state because it is in the center of the state and with our new 4-H and FFA building and it being dedicated to their meetings throughout the year, it’s going to give us a lot of additional, and we’re currently building a new tie barn. So, there’s gonna be even more agricultural events here in the future as well.
