A new face on the Tennessee Farm Bureau State Women’s Committee. Hello, and welcome to Tennessee Home and Farm Radio, I’m Thomas Capps.

Dawn Groves
It was just such an honor to even be considered to be nominated by the committee, and then to be selected by my peers.

Thomas Capps
Sumner county’s Dawn Groves has been elected to represent District Two on the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation women’s state committee. Groves is replacing Faye Coble, who has served on the committee for many years.

Dawn Groves
I’m excited to fill her role. I know I can’t fill it adequately at the beginning. But she has given me her support and said she would be there to help in whatever way that she could. The Committee of women is phenomenal. I’ve made some great friendships through the course of the work that we’ve done with Farm Bureau and American Farm Bureau conventions and have gotten to know them. So I’m excited to be able to work with them.

Thomas Capps
Groves, believes fully in the work the women’s committee does and says they play a vital role in Farm Bureau and the ag industry as a whole.

Dawn Groves
They’re that voice that all women need to be able to have to support the men in everything that they’re doing to support the board. Our thing I think that we’re able to do, that maybe some men don’t feel comfortable with is getting out into the classrooms. We’re such a big proponent of the Ag in the Classroom, curriculum and being able to be in those schools and to promote Ag in that way to help educate the future generations of young children and then to advocate for everything that Farm Bureau stands for. We also are able to go into those legislative visits and to represent the women’s side in that realm.

Thomas Capps
No stranger to Farm Bureau, Groves has been heavily involved with the organization at the county level and is now eager to get to work on the state level too.

Dawn Groves
My father in law actually got us involved with Farm Bureau and so this is kind of our legacy to him is to continue to do what we can to promote Farm Bureau to promote farming and to keep children understanding what it is about.
