John-Douglas Wiggins has been named Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation regional field director for central East Tennessee announced Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation Executive Vice President Bryan Wright.
Wiggins’ role as regional field director will be to serve as the Farm Bureau liaison for twelve counties in East Tennessee – Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott, Sevier and Union.
“John-Douglas is a very bright young man with a passion for agriculture, and he has a strong desire and eagerness to serve our Farm Bureau members,” said Wright. “President Eric Mayberry and I are excited to have him join the team and look forward to working with him.”
A native of Monroe County, Wiggins was raised on a beef cattle farm and active in 4-H and FFA. He received his bachelor’s degree in agricultural leadership, education and communications from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2024. During his time in college, Wiggins was a member of the livestock judging team, an officer for Block and Bridle and an active member of collegiate FFA and 4-H clubs. In addition, Wiggins interned with River Valley Ag Credit and the Sweetwater Livestock Center. After graduating, he was a STEM teacher at Sequoyah High School where he enjoyed working with students judging and showing livestock.
“I am proud to have John-Douglas join our field staff,” said Melissa Bryant, director of field services. “I believe the twelve counties he serves will quickly see how dedicated he is to agriculture and Farm Bureau.”
John-Douglas is residing back on the family farm in Madisonville where he continues to help run their commercial beef operation. In his spare time, he enjoys working with youth, playing sports and teaching the college Sunday school class at Vonore Baptist Church.
