Aug 4, 2025 | Tennessee Farm Bureau

Byron Peery has been named Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) mobile experience coordinator announced Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation Executive Vice President Bryan Wright.

Peery’s role will primarily concentrate on providing coordination for the new Exploring Tennessee Agriculture Mobile Classroom as well as the AgSimulator and other related projects. He will work to build and maintain relationships with volunteers, leaders and schools while serving as a resource in developing and managing mobile classroom units.

“Agriculture in the classroom is vital when it comes to ensuring the next generation know where their food, fiber and fuel come from,” said Wright. “Byron’s 36 years of experience in education will be extremely valuable to our efforts in securing that future, and we look forward to how he will make our new mobile classroom have an even stronger impact.”

A native of Maury County, Peery grew up raising hogs, cattle and tobacco on his family’s farm in Culleoka. He is a Middle Tennessee State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in animal science and a master’s degree in administration and supervision. He taught agricultural education at Spring Hill High School for nine years before transitioning to Culleoka Unit School in 1998 where he has been ever since. During his extensive time teaching agribusiness, agriscience and agricultural mechanics, Peery earned many accolades and FFA achievements, including being awarded Teacher of the Year at the high school in 2014.

“I have had a lifelong passion for educating not just agricultural students, but also the general public about the agriculture industry,” said Peery. “There is no entity that does this better than Farm Bureau, and I am truly honored to now be a part of an organization that is such a strong advocate for our industry and one that serves its members with integrity and impact.”

Peery currently resides in on his family’s farm in Culleoka with his wife, Robyn. They have two grown daughters, Adrianna and Makayla.
