Emily Ivey of Loudon County Named Environmental Stewardship State Winner

Jul 18, 2025 | Tennessee Farm Bureau

Emily Ivey of Loudon County was named state winner in the Tennessee Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers (YF&R) Environmental Stewardship contest. The results were announced during the Tennessee Young Farmers Summer Conference held at the Farm Bureau Expo Center in Lebanon. The young farmer received this award due to her outstanding environmental stewardship efforts in preservation and best management practices on her farm.

Emily has transformed what was once a neglected, run-down farm into a thriving and pristine cow-calf, pasture and hay operation. Through sheer determination and hands-on work, she has installed fencing, repaired erosion-prone areas, planted high-quality forage, including grasses and clovers, and constructed modern hay storage facilities. Her efforts go beyond productivity—they reflect a deep respect for the land and a commitment to preserving it for future generations. Emily embodies the spirit of conservation and environmental stewardship that the Tennessee Young Farmers & Ranchers seek to honor.

This award is given in partnership with the University of Tennessee Extension and focuses on highlighting the relationship between the local Extension agent and the young farmer.
