Hundreds of young cattle producers from all across the state have participated in one of the long standing agricultural traditions; the Tennessee Junior Livestock Beef Expo in Lebanon. And this is definitely a family tradition. As Chris Gosset of Williamson County was there helping his daughter Jaden show her beef cows

Chris Gosset
Interesting cows everything and get the opportunity to show in Williamson County. 4-H stuff really enjoyed mix up me and my dad, pretty much our whole family enjoy doing and learning and learning a lot of good good lessons from

Jaden Gosset
Growing up I always watch my cousins show because they were always older than me. And from there I just fell in love with animals and he got me into 4-H I enjoyed it ever since I made plenty of friends met new people. It’s been a great experience.

18 year old Colin Cook of Robertson County completed his career in the junior livestock events by winning Grand Champion in the steer show.

Colin Cook
Feels pretty good especially hits a little closer home this one that me and my good buddy Jim Young just had as soon as he came out. I mean, we’ve seen him from the beginning and now I guess to the end. And it feels a whole lot better too because the past couple years I’ve gotten close and gotten reserved and it just feels good to finally get a piece of it.

Colin Cook has been showing cattle since the fourth grade and goes out on top with a grand champion banner and for Cumberland County’s Greg Upchurch with the UT Extension Service. He knows firsthand how important the junior expo events are for everyone involved

Greg Upchurch
Ive been coming to this thing since 1973. As a child as exhibitor, as a volunteer as a parent, as an extension agent, many different roles and it’s about the family atmosphere and that environment families coming together.
