Lee Bagwell elected to serve as 2025 Tennessee YF&R Chair

During the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation 103rd annual meeting, Tennessee Young Farmers & Ranchers’ delegates elected Lee Bagwell of Robertson County as their new chair to serve the upcoming year.

“This is an opportunity of a lifetime,” said Bagwell. “I can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be. Being on state committee the past couple of years and now being chairman, I’m extremely blessed.”

As a fourth-generation farmer, Bagwell and his family operate Triple J Farms, a diversified row crop operation consisting of more than 1,300 acres of corn, wheat, soybeans and tobacco. They also raise tobacco plants for the public and Lee serves as a seed representative for Becks Hybrid. He and his wife, Halie, are proud to be raising the fifth generation for their sons, John Lee and Jackson.

The couple has been extremely active in YF&R for several years, as well as the Robertson County Farm Bureau. Lee has served as the county’s YF&R chairman and on the state YF&R committee for the past two years, and a highlight of their involvement was no doubt winning Young Farmer of the Year in 2021.

“The farmer is always an eternal optimist,” said Bagwell. “I know, even though times are tough right now, that there’s some bright times ahead for agriculture and a lot of young people wanting to be involved who are going to help lead the way. I’m excited for our committee to be a part of that too.”

As the Tennessee Young Farmers and Ranchers State Committee chair, Bagwell will serve as an ex-officio member on the Tennessee Farm Bureau State Board of Directors.
