During the 102nd annual meeting of the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation, the Tennessee Young Farmers and Ranchers’ delegates elected Robert Hill of Lauderdale County as their new chair to serve the upcoming year.

“It’s very humbling to be in this position and I’m really looking forward to this year as we continue to try to make YF&R better than it has been,” said Hill. “The organization has been in great hands for many years, and I hope to continue the legacy the past state chairs have left.”

As a fifth-generation farmer, Hill and his family farm close to 7,000 acres of cotton, corn and soybeans in the Gates community. With a strong family legacy in Farm Bureau, he’s been involved in the organization for several years, serving as the current Lauderdale County YF&R chairman and a county Farm Bureau board of director. He has served on the Tennessee YF&R Committee for the past two years before being elected as state chair. He was also chosen as the second-place winner in the achievement award contest in 2021.

As the Tennessee Young Farmers and Ranchers State Committee chair, Hill will serve as an ex-officio member on the Tennessee Farm Bureau State Board of Directors.
