For several years now people in the Ag industry across the state have participated in the three clay sporting events called shooting hunger. Each region of Tennessee has a clay sporting event and the money raised goes towards the backpack program in all 95 counties. The backpack program helps kids in need by packaging food into their backpacks and sending it home with them after school. Rutherford County recently received their funding from shooting hunger, which will go towards feeds the 1,300 homeless students in their school district.
